The cricket match between the Austraian and English teams was resumed o-day, when the former with four wicketlown for 152 runs, continued their second : nnings, which c’osed for a total of 191 The following were the scores to-day : — Cooper, c 6 Connor, c .. .. .. 19 Palmer .. .. .. .. 0 Boyle .. .. .. .. 0 Alexander, stumped .. .. 10 Bannerman did not bat, having been njtired earlier in the game. The Englishnen, requiring 66 runs to win the match hen went in for their second innings. When the play was adjourned for luncheon 14 runs had been scored for the loss of two wickets :— Flowers, b 7 Scotton, b .. ~ .. 2 Barnes and Shrewsbury followed, and remained in until the required number lad been scored, Barnes making 26 and Shrewsbury 28. The Englishmen thus won the match by eight wickets. Melbourne. December 16.
