Compulsory tor winners; Insert and hacks optional. Distance, 1 mile and a distance. RULES ANDBEGULATIONS. No entry will be received for any race except upon the condition that all claims, disputes, and objections arising shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint; and their decision upon all points shall be final. All protests must bo accompanied with a deposit of 5 sovs. which sum shall be forfeited to the funds if the protest is not sustained. AU nominations, entries, acceptances, etc., booompanied by the necessary amount, must be addressed to the Secretary, and left at the Masonic Hotel, Gisborne, not later than 8 p.m. on the several specified dates. Any owner failing to declare his color at time of entry, will be fined 2 sovs. Any jockey tiding in colors excepting those entered will be fined 2 sovs. All horses must be ridden in a dors, any jockey infringing thia rule will be fined 2 sovs. General entry night, Tuesday, 18th Janaary, 1886. The rules and weights of the Poverty Bay Turf Club, as in force si the date of the meeting, will be strictly adhered to. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount ot all stakes. Horus walking over will receive 50 per cent of the stakes. The winner of any race ot the value of IN mvs and over, after the declaration of weights, to carry Slbs extra; and the winner of any race of 2N sovs and over to carry Tibs extra in the Tradesmen’s and Turanga Stakes Handicap.
