Auckland, November 21. The Customs duties yesterday amounted to £951 17s. Id. The Kauri gum market still continues flat, and prices are almost nominal, say poor to ordinary, 28s. to 325.; fair to ordinary 345. to 365. Eggs and butter still continue equal for requirements, and in consequence prices remain unchanged. Oats are quoted at 2s. to 3s. 2d. During the week large shipments have been received from the South, and some 600 sacks were forwarded to Sydney on Wednesday. Maize has been changing hands during the week at from 4s. 6d. to ss. for good samples. Potatoes are quoted at £8 per ton. New potatoes are now coming forward and are quoted at Id. per lb retail. BUCKLAND’S WEEKLY REPORT. At the Haymarket on November 11th, hay and straw stood at last week’s value. Oats maintained ruling prices. Chaff was slow of sale, only good lots being competed for. Horses were in full numbers, those of a good class bringing value satisfactory to sellers. Heavy draught, £3O; medium, £l6 to £2O. Hacks fully maintain their value, one of a good class bringing £5O. At Tuesday’s sale fodder kept to the values of the Friday previous. The hide and skin market was fairly supplied. Qualities ruled lower than at the previous sale, but prices proportionately ruled at past rates. Butchers skins are still realizing top prices, viz., 4s to 4s lid; lighter weights, 2s 4d to 3s lid. Tallow was only in short supply and of indifferent quality. Small lots of wool were offered in bags, bringing 4jd to sfd. Prices shew an upward tendency, and at the coming sa'e on December 3rd, it is anticipated that values will be more satisfactory to growers than at last season.

At Pokeno on Monday all the cattle were sold, the reserves in all cases being realised. At the Drury sale young stock were plentiful, and two hundred and fifty head found buyers. At Remuera on Thursday about 400 store cattle, principally steers, were yarded. Prices for grown and fresh conditioned steers were fairly sustained, but two to three year olds were at lower values. Fat cattle were in full numbers. Prices fell considerably, and steers Of good quality ranged from 18s. to 20s. the 100 pounds. Fat sheep were also in excess of requirements, and fell in price. 2d. for ewes and 2Jd. for prime wethers were the ruling prices. Lambs were abundant, but fairly maintained late value, and pigs were in better inquiry.
