CORRESPONDENCE

Wo do not hold ourselves responsible for the opinions expressed by our correspondents.) THAT LOCAL AGENT. TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l spg by last night’s Herald that Robin Hood’s local agent took my remarks re bogus telegrams rather unkindly. “ Local Agent’s ” explanation about the telegram having been transmitted wrong may be quite correct, as he knows, or thinks he knows everything. The assertion that the letter signed “ Investor ” was written in the Telephone Office must also be correct if he says so. He also offers to refund the money spent if I will apply in person, evidently being under the impression that I grieve as much over the loss of a few shillings as he docs himself. It was not my intention to I start a controversy on the subject. I simply stated a fact, and asked those connected with the consultation, for an explanation, which “ Local Agent ” has given satisfactorily to—himself. I think lam justified in saying that I was not the only one who wished for it. With these few remarks I will wish “ Local Agent ” adieu ! Apologising for trespassing on your space about such a trivial matter,— I am, <fcc., Investor. Ormond, Nov. 18, 1884.
