Forged Bank Notes.
[Own Correspondent.] CninsTcnußcn, November 15. Forged Bank of ?? w Zealand one pound notes are in circulation here. They are a a quarter of an in h shorter than the genuine ' one and fainter printed nn hand mi le paper. 1 They purport to ba i.- L.l at Christchurch, 'April Ist, 1881, signil J. Hay Barclay, ; manager. They were circulated on the race I course, and eight were paid into the account i of Burke, publican, who took ’hem believing | them genuine. Six more were seized by the police yesterday on the course. Th i police detained three persons, but they proved to have been deceived th mselves.
