Napier News.

[Own Correspondent.] Napier, November 13. For the three contested elections yesterday for the Hawke’s Bay County Council, Kinross defeated Anderson for Marekakaho riding. Rymer defeated Donnelly for Meanee riding, and Bennett defeated Bolton for Puketapu riding. At a meeting of the committee of the Chamber of Commerce yesterday, a letter was read from the Secretary of the London Chamber of Commerce, requesting information respecting the direction in which the commercial association should move with a view of bringing about the Federation of the whole of the British Empire. It was resolved to let the letter lie on the table until the quarterly meeting of the Napier Chamber, as the matter was too important to be discussed off hand.
