[Per United Press Association.] Napier, November 13. The following gentlemen have been returned unoppossed for the Waipawa County Council: —Tamumu, Mr. J. Mackersey; Eparaima, Mr. Warren ; Waipukurau, Mr. W. C. Smith; Porangahau, Mr. G. Hunter. The following are the candidates who stood for election yesterday:—Waipawa, Mr. H. Arrow and Mr. E. Bibby; Patangata, Mr. A. Dillion and Mr. J. Lawrence; Ruataniwha, Dr. Mirback and Mr. A. H, Ross ; Norsewood, Mr. H. Wilding and Mr. Youngman; Woodville, Messrs C. Hall, E. T. Sturdy, and J. Hutchins. Auckland, November 13. At a meeting of the Harbor Board the tender of Pierce Lanigan for L 88.836 was accepted for the construction of the Calliope dock. The engineer’s estimate was L 98.675. The following were the unsuccessful tenderers: —Hart and White, L90.36117s 4d ; W. Cameron, L 95.692 16s. 2d.; Taylor and Briton, L 103,134 13s. 4J.; Hector Reid, L1U,706 15s. 10d.; Fallon, L 129.964. The tender of Fleming and Stephenson, of London, for a dredge for L 18.350 was accepted At the annual meeting to-day of the New Zealand Frozen Meat and Storage Company, Limited, it was stated that freezing operations would in all probability commence in Auckland in February next, and in April the first shipment would be sent Home.
