Wairoa News.

[Own Correspondent.] Wairoa, November 12. At a meeting of the County Council a letter was read from the Public Works Department stating that the application for the bridge across the Wairoa River at Clyde, and across Sturm’s Creek would be brought under the Act, but the grant for the Riwi Creek bridge was disallowed. The Council determined to invite tenders for the bridge across the Takaenui River, between Wairoa and Mohaka. It was resolved that the question of the liability of the sureties for the late County Clerk, Williams, be referred to the County Solicitor, and that the rates in arrear be received on the day of the county election.
