[Reuter’s Telegrams.] Sydney, November 1. The New South Wales Parliament, which has been in session for over twelve months, was prorogued to-day by His Excellency the Governor. Lord Augustus Loftus made special reference to the railway system of the Colony, and mentioned that more than 1,600 miles of lines were already open for traffic. In addition to this, 400 miles were in course of construction, and 1,278 miles had been authorised. His Excellency also referred to the financial position of the Colony, and stated that the revenue was in a flourishing condition and largely exceeding the original estimate of the Colonial Treasurer. November 3. A bad case of small-pox has appeared in Woolloomoloo, in this city, and a number of houses and persons have in consequence been quaranli ned.
