[reuter’s telegrams.] Cairo, October 28. Telegrams have been received here announcing that General Lord Wolseley and the head-quarters staff had arrived at Sarrah, and are about to proceed to Ambukoli. London, October 29. It is currently reported here that Lord Wolseley has been empowered to appoint the Mudir of Dongola temporary Governor of the new province which is to be created in the Soudan. Later. The reports current that General Lord Wolseley had been empowered to appoint the Mudir of Dongola temporary Governor of a new province in the Soudan is authoritatively denied.
