We are glad to be able to state that an agreeable relaxation in the tightness of the money market is making itself perceptible. The local banking institutions got over the half-yearly balance days of August and September very satisfactorily and are inclined to extend a more indulgent feeling to their clients than has been hitherto displayed. From the South many enquiries are being made by capitalists desirous of seeking investments in this part of the colony. During the past few weeks men of means have visited the Bay with a view to acquiring landed property. Several properties have lately changed hands at satisfactory figures, and others are under negotiation. Altogether a healthier financial tone than has prevailed in the past pervades the community. Judging from these signs, the fact of the wool and grass seasons being at hand, and the generally favorable aspect, things are wearing, abrighter outlook for the Bay presents itself, and increased confidence in the vast resources of the district is becoming everywhere firmly established.
