A Lunatic Marauder.

ONE MAN SHOT. [Own Correspondent.] Nelson, October 17. A lunatic named Gibson, who escaped from the asylum three weeks ago, has been entering settler’s houses and stealing food, and also took two guns. Two constables and two men named Busch and Palmer were out searching for him, but the constables returned yesterday to attend the District Court. After they left, Busch followed up the scent and was suddenly shot from behind a fence by the lunatic. Busch’s injuries consist of gun-shot wounds in the lungs, face, and arm. Several have turned out with guns to hunt down the lunatic.
