[reuter’s telegrams.] Cairo, October 6. Intelligence is to hand that General Gordon has returned to Khartoum from Berber, which place was recently re-captured from the rebels. A case of small-pox has occurred in the Black Watch (first battalion Royal Highlanders) and the whole battalion has in consequence been placed in quarantine.
