The Geraldine races were continued yesterday. • The weather was beautiful, and the attendance was far larger and the sport much better than on the first day. The following are the results :— Handicap Hurdle Race, 100 sovs., 2 miles. Barbary .. 1 The Lad 2 Gaiters .. .. .. .. 3 Faust and Marion also ran. Barbary won easily by a couple of lengths. Sheenan’s Lad ran gamely, but the weight was rather too much, and told at a critical time. Hack Hurdles 15 sovs., 1J miles. Royalty 1 Cigarette .. .. .. .. 2 Our Pony .. .. .. .. 8 Two others ran. The race was a splendid one, Royalty only winning by a neck. Cup Handicap, 150 sovs., 2 miles. Vanguard, Bst. 121 b. (Derritt) .. 1 Poet, 7st. 21b. Christchurch, October 4. The racehorse Krupp was injured internally during the voyage from Auckland to Christchurch in the Rotomahana in the beginning of the week, and may not be able to appear on a racecourse for some time to come.
