[reuter’s telegrams.] Cairo, October 2. General Lord Wolsely has started Iron Assouan for Wady Haifa. Earl Northbrook will leave Cairo on Mon day next for Upper Egypt. London, October 3. The Times this morning states that Lord Wolsely has been recalled from Egypt, and that General Stephenson will take command of the expedition to the Soudan. Later—The etatf-ment made in to-day’;-Times of Wolsely being recalled from Egypt is now officially stated to be devoid of foundation. Intelligence to hand from Cairo that news has reached there to the effect that B—bc, has been recaptured from the rebels by the troops despatched from Khartoum by General Gordon.
