Mr. Stout in Dunedin.
[Own Corssspondent.l Dunedin, October 1. A very large crowd assembled last evening at the train to welcome Mr. Stout. The Mayor, Mr. W. P. Street, read an address, expressing the pride of the citizens in Mr. Stout’s success in political affairs, and holding him up as an example for the youth of the colony to emulate. Mr. Stout only said a few words, excusing himself on the ground of physical inability to reply, and stating he would not care to go through the same physical strain, and at the same time be subjected to the vile abuse he had received from various newspapers. A brass band played him out of the railway station.
