The Tarawera arrived at Auckland from Gisborne at 11.30 a.m.
The Saucy Kate arrived yesterday morning from Taiaroa, with a cargo of timber consigned to Mr. J. Trimmer. The s.s. Rosina will take her departure tomorrow morning for the coast, with a general cargo of stores. A notice to mariners is now issued, to the effect that on and after the Ist of October a light will be exhibited from the lighthouse recently erected at the French Pass, which is situated on Channel Point, about 50 feet from low water mark. The tower is 24 feet in height, and is painted white.
