Onions, per lb 0 2|to 0 3 TO-DAY’S SALES. At Tattersall’s to-day, goods and effects in the estates of E. Cowen, W. Knights, and W. O’Meara, were offered for sale and brought reasonable prices. The chestnut mare, sold in the estate of W. O’Meara, brought £l4, notwithstanding the verbal notice given by Mr. Turton at the time, that the mare was claimed by George Brown, of Karaka, and the then purchaser would most likely be involved in a lawsuit. AUCKLAND lOR REPORT. Messrs. R. M. Heighton and Co. report :— “ Our supply of men servants is as usual, but demanding higher wages. Engagements have been as follows —farm hands, 15s. to 20s. and found, cooks, gardeners, storemen, shop assistants, grooms, clerks, managers, and carters engaged at current wages; married couples are plentiful, as also good ploughmen. We have a moderate supply of women servants. The following engagements have been made during the last week—governesses, £3O to £BO per annum ; housekeepers, 13s. to 20s. per week ; cooks, 14s. to 255. per week; general servants, Bs. to 125.; nurse girls, 6s. to Bs.
