WEBB'S ROYAL MARIONETTES
The Marionettes presented an entirely new programme at Parnell & Boylan’s Hall last evening, to a very good house. In the first part a Japanese juggler completely took the house by storm with his wonderful feats, while a trio of celestial minstrels and a jolly old nigger from old Kentucky did much towards amusing the audience. The minature Ethiopians gave a fresh repertoire of songs and comicalities and were greatly applauded. Mr. Harland was again encored for his song “ Dawkins’ Night.” The harlequinade was entirely new and evoked roars of laughter. Mr. C. B. Foster played one of his wonderful pianaforte solos, and also introduced several new selections during the evening. Previous to the wonderful and beautiful transformation scene it was announced that to-night would positively be the last occasion on which the company would appear in Gisborne, and that to enable everybody to see the astonishing feats, the prices would be reduced to Is., 25., and 3s. The announcement was received with applause. We advise all who want a good night’s amusement to seize this opportunity, positively the last they will have.
