Wellington News.
[Own Correspondent.] Wellington, September 25. A deputation of the Trades and Labor Council waited on the Premier yesterday on-< several questions. First they urged that greater facilities should be given for the attachment of moneys belonging to employers of labor. The second question was with reference to Mr. Bradshaw’s Employment of Females Act. The deputation put forth that as the Bill was one to amend the present Act it did not go far enough. They urged more rigid inspection of establishments employing labor, and that steps be taken to have such establishments registered. The next question was local industries. The deputation urged that tenders be called in the Colony for supplying a dozen locomotives. Mr. Stout replied that all the matters mentioned would have his serious consideration, but he could not give a definite reply without first consulting his colleagues. He would confer with the Minister for Public Works re locomotives, but could mention that local industries had the entire sympathy of Government, and they would foster them in every way possible.
