The Soudan War.

WOLSELY TO THE FRONT. [Reuter’s Telegrams.] Cairo, September 23. Lord Wolsely proceeds to the front for the purpose of joining the main body of troops proceeding to Khartoum on Saturday next. Further intelligence of the state of affairs at Khartoum has been received at the hands of a messenger who was sent by General Gordon. The despatches which he brings prove that the withdrawal of the Arab rebels from the town was correctly stated, and that General Gordon has been completely successful in his operations. At the time the messenger left Khartoum supplies were plentiful, and large quantities were being brought in. General Gordon had already despatched his steamers to Sen nor, in the Blue Nile, to relieve the garrison and inhabitants, and preparations were being made for sending strong forces to attack the rebels at Berber. The messenger met the British expedition, which had been sent from Assouan to Dongola.
