The schooner Onward was towed into the river this morning by the Rosina, and is now discharging into Common, Shelton & Co.’s old store. The Thomas Russell arrived from Auckland and Napier this morning about six o’clock. She will leave for Auckland, via Napier, to-morrow morning, at seven o’clock. The Waihora arrived at Auckland at 2.15 yesterday from Gisborne. The Grey River Argus says that the steamer Maori passed quite close to Jackson Head while the shipwrecked men were there, and some of those on board pointed to groups of men on shore. The chief officer thought that they were a party of surveyors, and attached no importance to the occurrence. Nothing in the shape of a wreck or wreckage was seen. The Gazette contains the following notice from the Government of Western Australia : —“ Vessels, passengers, merchandise, &c., arriving at any port in the colony are subjected to quarantine of 21 days from the date of leaving Victorian ports.
