The Omapere left to-day for Auckland. The Southern Cross will arrive from Auckland to-morrow. Last boat at four o’clock. She will bring down the cargo which was carried on by the Te Anau to Auckland on Monday last. The Waihora, which is to arrive early to-morrow morning from the South, will be tendered for the last time at eight o’clock. The Te Anau arrived this afternoon from Auckland. The last boat will go off at Those who are in the habit of travelling by sea, says the Nelson Mail, will be glad to learn that the Union Co. are about to substitute the Takapuna for the Wanaka in the trade. She will not run at her full speed, but will be reduced to a twelve knot boat, which, even in these go-ahead days, will be considered quite fast enough for ordinary travelling. With the Rotorua, Hawea, and Takapuna there will be no complaints about the comfort of passengers between here and the other ports with which communication is provided by the Union Co’s, splendid fleet.
