Fortnightly Mail Service.

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, September 11. Mr. Coster, M.H.R., is at present on a visit to Auckland. At tho request of the Chamber of Commerce he met the Committee of that association for the purpose of talking over tho matter of the direct steam service and shipping matters generally. Mr. Coster, in reply to a question, said there would soon be a fortnightly service by the direct steamers; in fact, that the Company had only asked for the alternative mail service to show they recognised the importance of keeping up the ’Frisco service.
