SEALED tendeis will be received at the several Chief Post Offices in the Colony until SATURDAY, the twenty-seventh of September for the conveyance of mails between the undermentioned places, for a period of two years from the Ist January, 1885, to the 31st December, 1886. Postal District of Gisborne. 1. Gisborne and Ormond, thrice weekly. 2. Gisborne and Ormond, daily. 3. Gisborne, Patutahi, and Te Arai Bridge, ■via Matawhero, twice weekly. 4. Gisborne ami Tologa Bay, weekly. 5. Port Awanui and Wharekahika, fortnightly. 6. Tologa Bay and Port Awanui, weekly. 7. Tologa Bay and Port Awanui, fortnightly. The attention of intending tenderers is directed to the following clause of the terms and conditions gi contract printed at the back of the tender-forms : “ The days and hours of arrivals and departures of mails will be stated in a time-scheuule attached to the bond, but other days and hours may from time to time be fixed by the PostmasterGeneral by notice in writing. For services performed by coach no stage shall exceed twelve miles, except by special permission from the Postmaster-General, who shall determine whether or not longer stages are unavoidable.” Contractors whose tenders may be accepted must be prepared to carry out the services for which they lender according to the timetables framed by the department. Contractors must, in accordance with the terms and conditions of mail contracts, provide a free box-seat on any vehicle, and a free passage by any steamer or boat, when when required, for an officer travelling on the business of the department. Forms of tender, with terms and conditions of contract, may be procured at any post office. No tender will be considered unless made on the printed form.
