A match for the championship of the world and £5OO a side, has been arranged between Banian and Beach, and will take place on the Paramatta River the first Saturday in May next year. A sculling match has been arranged between Hanlon and Clifford, to take place within five months. The stakes to be £5OO a side. A sculling match has also been arranged between Clifford and Teener for £5OO a side. Melbourne, August 28. Garfield has been scratched for the Melbourne Cup.
