THE G. M. TUCKER. PROPERTY TAX COMMISSIONER F. N.Z.L. and m.a. co. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, August 28. A preliminary enquiry into the circumstances connected with the G. M. Tucker touching the rocks when entering the harbor on Monday, was held yesterday, but the evidence elicited no new facts. It has been sent to the Marine Department. Auckland, August 28. Judge Gillies gave judgment in the case of the Property Tax Commissioner v. the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company to the effect that the company was bound to render a statement of property as principals, so far as guaranteed investors were concerned ; but with respect to the Agricultural Co., it was not bound to render such statements, as the Agricultural Company has its head quarters in the Colony and is bound to render its own statement.
