AUSTRALIANS V. CAMBRIDGE. Telegrams] . London, August 25. The Australian Cricketers commenced a match to-day at Brighton against Eleven o Cambridge, past and present. The following are the names of the Home team ;—Hon. A Lyttelton (Captain), Messrs. J. E. K. Studd A. J. F. Ford, T. E. Lacey, A. P. Lucas, P E. Roller, A. G. Steele, H. Whitfield, E. H Allcock, and P. H. Morton. There was a very large attendance of spec tators, although the weather was cold and inclement. The wicket w’as somewhat bumpy and in favour of the bowlers. The Australians went in first and were al disposed of for a total of 190, the highest c orers being :— Scott, c 35 Griffen, c 34 Palmer, run out .. .. 42 The Home team were less successful, and lost seven wickets for 47, when the play ceased for the day. Studd, run out, 14, was the principal scorer.
