A large meeting took place at Punch's hotel to-day, when the stakes in the late sculling match were paid over. Hanlan admitted that he had wilfully fouled Beach because he believed that the latter had crossed over into his water. Hanlan expressed a desire to row another match with Beach within three months, but Beach positively refuses to meet the exchampion within six months. Clifford also offered to row Hanlan, but the latter refused to take up the challenge.
