TO-DAY’S AUCTIONS. At Messrs C. Smith cleared out a miscellaneous lot of goods to-day at fair prices. Messrs. Graham, Pitt & Bennett’s horse sale at Tattersalls, hacks sold up to £9 ; two yearlings brought £ll2s. 6d. each, and two 2-year olds £2 12s, 6d. each. Several lots were passed in. At the Haymarket on Friday, August 8, good fodder brought from 2s 9d to 3s 3d per cwt; chaff up to £5 17s 6d per ton; pressed hay, 5b to 6s per cwt; oats, 2s 2d to 2s 9d. Good draughts sold well, and ranged in price from £2B to £4O; medium draught, £l6 to £2O ; riding horses, £6 to £2O. On Tuesday fodder realised Friday’s prices. Twelve sacks rye grass seed, 5s per bushel; hams and bacon from Te Awamutu factory, 8d per lb. Hides were in larger supply than customary. Best quality ranged from 3d to 4d per lb, with steady demand; sheep skins, Is 6d to 3s 3d each; wool, 4|d to s|d lb; tallow, 18s to 21s per cwt.

Atßemuera on Thursday dairy cattle were in request. A few store cattle were yarded. Grown steers in fresh condition were required. Other classes were dull of sale. Fat cattle of good quality were in request at a slighs advance over last woek’s values. Prices ranged from 22s to 24s 100 lbs. Fat sheep are steady in value at 2Ad lb.
