The Southern Cross arrived in the Bay early this morning. She was engaged for several hours shipping cattle and sheep, and general cargo, and left during the afternoon. The Waiapu arrived this morning and anchored until the tide made. After discharging several rafts of timber, the Snark attempted to tow her in. She stuck on the bar for a short time, but was ultimately got into the river without any damage being done.

The Snark has been fitted with a new propeller, which we hear does not give every satisfaction.
