COOK COUNTY COUNCIL. THE following proclamation in reference to taking Lands for Public Works in Cook County is published for general information. JOHN WARREN, County Clerk. Dated at Gisborne this 11th day of August, 1864. (x,.s). Wm. F. DRUMMOND JERVOIS, Governor, by his Deputy, G. M. WATERHOUSE, A PROCLAMATION. Whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “ The Public Works Act, 1882,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in Cook County : And whereas the Cook County Council has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act. Now, therefore, I, George Marsden Waterhouse, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zenland, and as his duly-appointed deputy, in pursuance of the powers and authorities in him vested by section eleven of “ The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling him in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so described shall become absolutely vested in feesimple in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind soever, for use as a road.

SCHEDULE. All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, situated in the Waimata Survey District, in the Ormond Highway District, and being a portion of a road-line of irregular width traversing the south-western portion of Section No. 4.; commencing at the Waipaoa River termination of the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 4. Bounded—South-westerly by the Waiapoa River ; North-easterly by lines, 683 and 800 links respectively. South-easterly generally by lines, 50 and 143 links respectively, to the commencing point; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less ; as the same is more particularly delinated on the plan marked P.W.D. 11871, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of the Honourable George Marsden Waterhouse, for and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty four.
