Accidents and Offences.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, August 4. James Brown, buehman, of Kaeo, had his foot cut off by tho jamming of two logs, and has died from his injuries. Frederick Orrcn (or Owen), has been committed for trial for forgery. Wellington, August 4. A shop and dwelling-house occupied by Joseph Barnard, cabinet-maker, Greytown, was destroyed by fire last night. The house was owned by the Wellington Trust and Loan Company, and was insured in the Colonial office for £l5O. The stock was insured in the South British for £lOO.
