CORRESPONDENCE.

We do not hold ourselves responsible for tho opinions expressed by our correspondents.)

DIAMOND CUT DIAMOND.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Following the course of procedure they have adopted all along, the Harbor Board have again allowed themselves to fall into the net spread for them in such a wily fashion. Instead of hitting out boldly, most of the members allow themselves to be led away, and tbeir votes influenced, by the oily emanations ci interested parties. When they saw the sorry plight into which they had got over the Common Shelton business, why did they not rescind their motion fixing the valuation of the foreshore and make the rent of this particular section £lOO a week ? If this was done the firm would have to come to the Boards terms, or take their shanty away. It is quite a legitimate course to fight such people with their own weapons.—l am, Jinks.
