THE ELECTIONS.

[Per United Press Association.] The various candidates for city and country electorates are addressing the electors in all directions. In every case as yet a vote of confidence has been carried. Mr. W. H. Eyes addressed the electors at Turakina last night, as a candidate for the Picton seat, and received a vote of confidence. He favors a Coalition Ministry, including Vogel, Atkinson, and Bryce. Mr. Dick, while speaking at North East Vqlley last night, said, speaking as a private member, the present arrangement was not calculated to render the railway a commercial success, therefore he would be agreeable to trying the experiment of a non-political railway board. When the new Parliament is elected no party would be strong enough to command confidence, and there must be a coalition. Was not altogether satisfied with his own party, because in some matters he did not agree with, and quite possibly might not find himself prepared to follow the lead he had done in the past. He hoped that party warfare, simply for Treasury Benches, would be done away with. Mr. Gillies addressed the Bruce electors and supported Vogel. Mr. Pepper addressed the city electors last night. He received a patient hearing, and was accorded a vote of confidence. He declared himself a supporter of Atkinson. Mr. Kerr has addressed the electors of Taka and Collingwood, and received votes of confidence.
