Maize of good quality, 4s Id per bushel, whilst that badly cared for, being very heated, realised 2s 9d. Oats met with a readv sale at 2s 6d i oaten chaff, £5 10s per ton ; horses were yarded in good numbers, and of a better class than of late, heavy draughts ranging from £27 to £5l, keen competition being evinced for the superior animals. Light harness horses were in steady inquiry at recent values. At Tuesday’s Haymarket sale fodder maintained former rates. Hides and skins were plentiful and of good quality, and showed an increase on previous sales. Prices were firm at recent values, viz., 2jd to 3|d, and were well sought for. Skins (butchers) 2s lOd, (station) Is 9d to 3s 7d eacn ; pelts, Is Id to Is 3d. Tallow keeps pace with past prices—--26s to 27s Gd. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows were scarce, but those offered sold freely at prices from £5 to £ll. The supply of beef was somewhat short of the demand ; consequently fat cattle sold freely at 25s per lOOlbs. Sheep were in extreme numbers, 1,470 being yarded and although they did not realise last Thursday’s prices, sold well, good wethers bringing to 27s 6d. Pigs were plentiful and somewhat lower in value.
