Will you kindly give the definition of “ Averni.” If it was “ Averno est,” I could reconcile it with the “ Facilis Decensus.”— I am &c.) G. Stubbs, [No doubt the writer of the play has misquoted the above Latin sentence, which snould undoubtedly read “ Facilis est descent bus Averni.' 1 Meaning the descent to “Averni” is easy; otherwise the road to evil is easy.—Ed, Telephone.]
