The annual cricket match between Oxford and Cambridge Universities was concluded to-day, and resulted in a victory for the former by seven wickets. The cricket match, at Sheffield, between the Australians and Players of England was resumed to-day in the presence of an enormous number of spectators, and with fine weather. The Australians, with two wickets down for 65 runs, continued their first innings which closed for a total of 199. The principal scorers were Murdoch b 0 25, Bonnor, c 70 ; Peterson, not out, 28. The Home Team then commenced their 2nd innings and scored 87 runs, with two wickets down, before the play ceased for the day. Barlow, c for 28, Hall, for 50. The wicket to-day was rather bumpy. Great apathy is shown by Hearns supporters in the matter of raising his stake money.
