WILMOTT’S COMBINATION.
“ Pygmalion and Galatea” was the piece presented at McFarlane’s Hall last night by the Willinott Company. The attendance was not so good as the performance should have received. This is about one of the most difficult pieces to perform, but, as usual, each performer well represented his or her part, and caused great laughter amongst the audience, who showed their appreciation by rounds of well merited applause. To-night a full house may be looked for, as several local amateurs will take a part in the proceedings, The programme consists of a dramatised edition of Miss E. Braddon’s exciting novel entitled “ Aurora Floyd,” to be followed by the sparkling burlesque “Aladdin.” Both these pieces have been performed with great success to crowded and appreciative audiences down South. In the latter Mr. M. H. Smith and Mr. H. Saville will take a part. During the evening Mr. J. R. Scott and Mr. M. D. Alexander will give several of the latest songs. We therefore think, with such a programme as the foregoing, the whole affair should be a complete success.
