'TT'LECTORS, I desire very sincerely to return you my warmest thanks for the honorable position you have placed me in the Poll at yesterday’s election. I fed that no efforts made by me in your interests, when I take my seat in Parliament, can be too great for the honor you have done me and the confidence you have felt in my ability to serve you. Believe me Electors, that I shall at all times fed that the duties I owe to the whole of the electorate will be carried out with the most pleasurable fedings, and I trust that the dectors, with myself, will always be as one when the requirements of the East Coast District are in queation. To the gentlemen who so kindly volunteered to act as my Committee, I desire to tender my grateful acknowledgements. The able and unostentatious manner in which they performed their self-imposed offices, is entitled to thanks for which I am not sufficiently able to express in words. It is a matter for regret that the present session is likely to be too short for me to render you much effective service. However, no opportunity, you may rest assured, will be neglected in this direction. I look forward in anticipation that in the
