At the Supreme Cour', Charles Daivy was sentenced to 19 mouths for robbery. Patrick Longran, 5 years for burglary, this being his sixth conviction. Frank Jones, alias Bendcll four years, for forgery.
Timaru, Juno 13. At the Supreme Court, the jury which had been locked iip all night in the case of Taylor, charged with the embezzlement of 7s. (?) stated they could not agree, and were discharged. Christchurch, June 13. An earthquake is reported at Christchurch. Two sharp shocks were felt at Oxford yesterday. Auckland, June 13. Wm. Pictett, sharebroker, committed suicide at his lodgings last night. He locked himself in his bedroom, undresssed, and shot himself through the heart, with a charge from a double barrelled gun. He had been drinking, and had no relations here.
