The Soudan War.
[Reuter’s Telegrams.] FALL OF BERBER DOUBTFUL. Cairo, June 8. In consequence of the present serious aspect of affairs at Suakim, Admiral Lord John Hay, Commanding the Mediterranean Squadron, has £>roceeded thither. The intelligence to hand regarding the fall of Berber is generally believed to be incredible, and it is expected that contradictory news will shortly be received. Recent reports brought in by Natives show that the news of the projected expedition for the relief of Khartoum had a good effect upon the rebels, who are said to be retreating into Kordofan, fearing the arrival of the British troops.
