BUCKLAND’S WEEKLY REPORT. [fBOM Otß OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Auckland, May 01. Alfred Buckland’s weekly report at the sale on Friday last, May 28rd, is as follows Fodder and straw were greatly in excess of the previous markets, and prices still ruled at favorable rates, the bidding for the former was somewhat dull. Horse stock was repre. seated in large numbers, though principally light and hack carrying class, such heavy draughts as were brought forward sustained past values, riding horses brought from £3 to £2O. The Tuesday’s market brought a steady demand for fodder at current rate. Hides and skins were pitched in good numbers an at far better values than the previous week. Good hides realising 3|d to 3jd freely ; medium, 2|d, to 31d.. Sheepskins, Is. Bd. to 2s. 7jd. each. Wool is steady at 4|d. per lb., but of indifferent quality. Tallow was well sustained, and fully kept pace with the previous sales, ranging from 225. 6d. to 275. 6d.. At the Papakura sale on Wednesday, an unusually small muster of cattle were yarded, but such as were offered were sold at prices advantageous to the vendor. At Remuera on Thursday, the usual number of dairy cows were yarded, with prices unchanged. There was a full market of young eattle, consequent on heavy arrivals from Hawera last week, and were sold somewhat irregularly ; choice quality only, maintained last weeks values, and sold freely at 255. the lOOlbs. Sheep were plentiful, but really good mutton was scarce, but sold well, good Waikato realising 17s. 6d. each. Pigs were in full supply, and sold freely at late values.
