Dated this 31st May, 1884. 154 COOK COUNTY. ’VyOTICE is hereby given that it is the in--J-N tention of the Cook County Council to close a portion of the Gisborne-Tolago Bay Road, passing through Pouawa Block No. 828, and to provide in lieu thereof a new road through the same block, and to exchange with the owners of the land required to be taken, the lands herein described, and which constitute the present road line. Description of Land to be Exchanged. All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement, 5 acres 1 rood and 5 perches, more or less, situate in the Turanganui Survey District, in the Cook County, and being a road line varying in width, and forming a portion of the road known as the Gisborne-Tolago Bay Road within the Pouawa Block, No. 828. Commencing at a point on the Southern side of the aforesaid road, at a distance of 3,250 links or thereabouts, in a Southeasterly direction from Trig Station No. 110. Bounded towards the North-west by a line 225-4 links, towards the North generally by lines 53-8 links, 17'8 links, 169’7 links, 116 links, 173-4 links, 385 links, 63-3 links, 446’4 links, 342*4 links, 209’1 links, 285’8 inks, 416 links, 246’4 links, 120’8 links, 237’3 links, 521 links, and 100’2 links respectively ; towards the East by a line 604 links, and towards the South, by lines, 381*5 links, 211 links, 248*5 links, 374 links, 346'4 links 256*7 links, 233 1 links, 320*5 links, 475*3 links, 294*1 links, 179*7 links, and 189*2 links to the commencing point, be all the aforesaid linkages, more or less as the same is delineated on plan No. 337*8, deposited in the Survey Office, at Auckland. Copies of the plans of this land may be seen at the office of the Council, Lowe Street, Gisborne, until the 25th July, 1884. JOHN WARREN, County Clerk. 30th May, 1884. 153 COOK COUNTY. is hereby Given, that it is the “i- intention of the Cook County Council to take for the purpose of making a PUBLIC ROAD, the following land :— All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement Two acres, Two roods, and Thirty-seven perches, more or less, sit’uate in the Turanganui Survey District, in Cook County, and being a road line varying in width, and traversing a portion of the Pouawa Block, No. 828. Commencing at a point on the northern side of the road known as the GisborneTologa Bay Road, at a distance of 3180 links or thereabouts, in a south-easterly direction from trig, station No. 110. Bounded towards the north generally, by lines—249 links, 492*5 links, 444*6 links’ 581*8 links, 438*3 links, 513*1 links, and 294.5 links respectively; towards the east by a line 100*2 links, and towards the south generally by lines 458*7 links, 559*7 links, 397*7 links, 510*8 links, 79’8 links, 407 links, 93*2 links, 336*7 links, 19’6 links, and 214.9 links respectively, to the commencing point, be all the aforesaid linkages more or less, as the same is delineated on plan No. 3378, deposited in the Survey Office at Auckland. Copies of these plans are deposited, and may be inspected at Mr Wilson’s house at Kaiti, and at the Office of the Cook County Council, Lowe-street, Gisborne. The works proposed to be undertaken on this line of road are—formation for a width of eight feet on the solid, and the construction of drains for the passage of surface - water.
All persons affected, by the taking of these lands, are required to set forth in writing writing any well grounded objections they may have, and send such writing to the office of the Council on or before the 11th day of July, 1884. NOTICE is hereby given that on THURSDAY, the 12th June, 1884, the Cook County Council will make a General Rate of Three Farthings in the Pound on all rateable property within the County, for the period commencing Ist. April, 1884, and ending on the 31st. March, 1885, to be due and payable in one sum, on the Ist. day of August, 1884. NOTICE is hereby given that on THURSDAY, the 12th day of JUNE, 1884, the Cook County Council will make a Special Rate of one-two-hundredth part of a penny in the pound on all rateable property within the County for the purposes of the Roads and Bridges Construction Act. The Rate to be made for a period of ten years commencing Ist April, 1884, and ending 31si March, 1894, and to be due and payable ii one sum on the first day of March in eacl year.
