Despatches have been received from Admiral Miot, commanding the French Squadron in Malagasy Waters, announcing that he had broken off the parleying which for some time past has been proceeding, with a view to the settlement of affairs, and in consequence of the unyielding attitude of the Natives, he has established a blockade of the whole coast of Madagascar. London, May 29. The death is announced to-day of Sir Henry Bartlett Frere, Bart., well known as an ex-colonial Governor, aged 69.
