Important Decision.
DAMAGES AGAINST A SEA CAPTAIN. [Per Press Association.] Christchurch, May 30. A seaman named Eggs has recovered £lOO from Captain Webster, of the barque St. Lawrence, for improper surgical treatment at sea. The man hurt his shoulder, and the captain, believing it dislocated, acted in accordance with instructions issued to all shipmasters by the Board of Trade. The shoulder, however, was not dislocated, and the attempts to set it caused serious injury.
