A large and influential meeting last evening adopted a resolution against the French recidivistes proposals. Melbourne, May 2J. Arrived— Manapouri, from the Bluff. Messrs Service and Berry state that they are without any information confirming the announcement made in a London telegram that they are to be knighted. London, May 20. Arrived—the Chimborazo, from Melbourne. Tenders for the South Australian 4 per cent, loan for £1,650,000 when opened this morning was found to amount to £2,750,000. No particulars of allotment have yet been notified.
