(reuter’s telegrams.) PANIC ON STOCK EXCHANGE.-— FURTHER FAILURES. New York, May 16. A serious panic has occurred on the Stock Exchange, and in commercial circles in this city, in consequent of further failures of prominent business houses. Among the firms which have become insolvent, is a private bank which has been doing business on a large scale.
