[Reuter’s Telegrams,] THE EGYPTIAN CONFERENCE. 10,000 MEN TO RELIEVE GENERAL GORDON. London, May 9. In the House of Commons to-day, Mr. Gladstone stated that the Egyptian finances would form the basis upon which the forthcoming conference would be held, but that this would not preclude any power from raising other questions, May 11. The Observer this morning publishes a telegram from its correspondent at Cairo stating that orders have been received there from the Imperial Government to make preparations to despatch in October a force of ten thousand men to relieve General Gordon at Khartoum, It is further stated that Lord Wolsey will command the expedition. Cairo, May 9. Despatches have been received from the the Governor of Dongola announcing that the country to the southward of Debbeh is in open rebellion, and that Khartoum has been completely invested by the rebels. Messengers whom he despatched to the latter place have been unable to reach it.
