To The Editor

Sir,—l am rather astonished at the apathy shown by the Ormond settlers as regards their late member. I believe it was principally through their votes he gained his seat, and is it to be spread throughout the world that they were represented by a black-leg and a scoundrel (those words I take from your contemporary) ? I would suggest to them to call a public meeting to vindicate their late member from thoce foul aspersions cast upon him in his absense. Yours, &c., A Settler.
